Leftovers?

You send out the invitations, all pretty and neat.  You set the table just right, nothing out of place.  You prepare the menu to please all the guests.  You clean every corner in your home, set out the best hand towels in the bathroom and purchase a new blouse to wear for the occasion.

The sequence of events above happen each time you host a party.  Leftovers would not be served at the dinner table.  Laundry would not be strewn all over the house.  Beds would not remain unmade.  Pajamas would not be the chosen attire.

Guests receive the best of everything we possess.  Being a host/hostess consumes much of our energy and time.  Why do we not give that same effort to God?  He gave His only son to die for us so we may live life to the fullest.  Yet, we so often give Him our leftovers.  We come to Him after a long day as exhaustion sets in.

Let the laundry lay for a bit.  The dishes will not hurt anyone as they sit by the sink.  Leftovers can be eaten for supper.  Run wholeheartedly to Him and study His Truths with 100% focus.

"For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
(Matthew 6:32-34)

"But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.  When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and obey him. For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath." (Deuteronomy 4:29-31)

He created each of us, the least we can do is give Him the first and best of all we possess.  Our possessions exists because He provided.  He gives His all to us.  Let us give all of ourselves to Him.  He will not forget or abandon us.  Let us not forget or abandon Him.

Are you a night owl or a morning person?  Find your best time of the day, where you are most focused.  Give that time to Him.  Recall the sufferings Jesus endured for us.  Losing a little sleep cannot even compare.

God thank you for this day.  Thank You for the rest I received.  May I focus on You daily and keep You first in my day.  I know You will provide what I need throughout my day as I give myself to You and come to know You more.  I love You.

Keep praying harder than the devil can work.
