God is Constant

A friend approaches with a proposition for you to lead a Bible study at church.  Your mom asks for assistance in making a few repairs throughout her home.  Your spouse calls for help with preparation for a bake sale.  An employer presents an opportunity to move up the ladder in your career.  Someone offers the chance to further your education by attending some college courses.  A coach requests your presence on the varsity team.

Wow, all these scenarios bring a sense of honor to an individual.  Another being believes in you and thinks you best fit the position in question.  Stepping into an unknown environment allows for possible failure.  The flesh despises failure.  Satan loves failure because it creates a huge foothold.  If we are not careful we may slowly believe the lies spoke by him.  If the mind begins to think about the possibility of failure, the body will limit itself.

Satan feeds lies the moment we hear the offer.  What if the other person rejects you due to your failure?  What if you cannot complete the task?  Based on your past, how could you even think of trying this one?  Can't you see you are hopeless!  LIES, LIES, LIES!

"God is not human, that he should lie,
   not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
   Does he promise and not fulfill?
I have received a command to bless;
   he has blessed, and I cannot change it." (Numbers 23:19-20)

 "Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
   but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails." (Proverbs 19:21)

God creates each of us with a plan and a purpose.  He takes much time to think and outline the details.  He does not miss a beat or lack in any situation.  His plans require us to step faithfully into the unknown, causing our flesh to feel uncomfortable.  God uses the willing in mighty ways.  We cannot begin to fathom how He will use our gifts and talents.

God reveals His mighty power through us.  We must not allow Satan to use our past failures, shortcomings or fears to keep us stagnant.  Each time we remain or run back, lacking confidence in Him; we prevent maturity.  As water sits in the pipes unused, it becomes unfit for human consumption.  As we sit in our comfortable past, believe the lies of Satan or refuse to stretch and be bold for God; our spirit becomes stagnant and unfit for His plan.

Take heart, God never counts one as hopeless.  Hope remains in everyone.  One step must occur to activate the hope and believe the Truth - the step of faith.  The more you step in faith and accept the tasks He presents in your life, the more you will see God is constant.  He does not change His mind.  If He asks of you, He will complete the work (see Philippians 1:6).  He does not make mistakes.

Take God with you each time a new situation presents itself.  He will decide for you if this is the right direction to travel.  As you hear the word, "GO," do not hesitate.  What you lack in, God will provide.  Stretch out for God.  Allow Him to shine through you.  Find your confidence in Him, not self.  Do not worry or base your abilities on the past.  A preacher once told our congregation, "Your past is pardoned, your present is pleasant and your future is fixed."  Acknowledge who you are in Christ.  Do not allow other's opinions or Satan's lies define you or prevent you from doing His work.

Set your sights above, not below.  Avoid stagnant spirits.  Let God work through you.

God, thank you for this day.  Thank You for stretching me a little more each day.  I am here, use me.  I know my past may not be the prettiest, BUT I know it is pardoned, which creates a pleasant present for me and my future already is fixed so I need not worry about it.  I choose You every day, work through me and teach me the tools needed to steer clear of Satan's schemes and lies.  I love You.

Keep praying harder than the devil can work.
