Pure Fun

In my younger years, my mom, my good friend and I reported back to one another when we read a funny church sign.  Churches often place message boards out front with some words to spark your thinking.  I believe the church hopes the message will draw you in their doors to learn more.

Be careful as to not choose a church simply on appearance or words on a message board.  Delve into God's Word and ask for Him to guide you where He would like you to learn about Him.  Place your hope in Him, not a place or a saying displayed in front of a building.  Follow Him.  Allow Him to speak to you and nourish your spirit.

"Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long." (Psalm 25:5)

"The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
   and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail." (Isaiah 58:11)

Though the signs must not be used to teach or entice us to join a church, I still enjoy reading them.  I enjoy it so much that I bought a book full of them.  I will share some with you in pure fun.

The world uses duct tape to fix everything.  Jesus used nails.
May all your troubles be a short as your New Year's resolutions.
Faith is bread for daily use, not cake for special occasions.
The best exercise is stooping down and lifting up another.
Life is more fun if you don't keep score.
Let's meet at my house Sunday before the game.
You are in the driver's seat, but God holds the map.
If you find yourself with time on your hands, put 'em together and pray.
Watch your step - everyone else does.

And I am sure you all have heard this one:
LIFE IS SHORT, PRAY HARD!

God, thank you for this day.  Thanks for guiding me through this life.  Use me daily.  I am here for You.  I love You.

Keep praying harder than the devil can work.
