The Right Medication

My daughter ran to me last night, revealing her scraped knee.  She immediately said, "It's getting better!"  The moment my daughter receives any injury, she claims to be okay.  Tears may be flowing down her face, yet she gets right up and keeps going.  Once she even busted her head, resulting in three staples, and the whole time we tended to her she kept saying, "I'm okay!"

Her wounds continually receive care as her eyes keep close watch.  The progression of the healing process is celebrated each day.  A kiss and a hug from mom or dad accelerates the process.

Anytime I hurt myself, which is WAY too often for a grown woman, my little girl runs and kisses the wounded area.  I must hold back the painful face and assure her the kiss worked wonders.

Throughout the Bible, numerous examples exist of Jesus touching and healing the sick, injured or lame.  His kisses and hugs work wonders.  Too often we ignore our 'scrapes' or 'gashes' in life.  We bury them deep.

What happens to unkempt wounds?
-INFECTION-
Moral contamination or corruption.
Invasion of the body by pathogenic microorganisms.

"My guilt has overwhelmed me
like a burden too heavy to bear.
My wounds fester and are loathsome
   because of my sinful folly.
I am bowed down and brought very low;
all day long I go about mourning." (Psalm 38:4-6)

God reveals my buried wounds with each step I take closer to Him.  These contaminated my spirit, leaving me dead to life and consumed in sin.  At this point, a kiss and a hug will not heal.  I must delve deeper into His Truth and daily, hourly or by the minute medicate the wound with His love.  Over time, I examine the wound and celebrate its progress of healing.  With each gash transforming into a scar, my spirit awakens and I take the lessons learned as strength to endure the next infested wound.

I learned a lesson through one little three year old. . .
Stay alert to each 'scrape' in life so as to care for it immediately.  Use God's Truth to medicate every moment of every day until you reach healing.  Though you encounter many 'gashes' in life, instantly get up and know you will be okay with God at your side.  He reveals the healing process through His Words.  He kisses each wound and gathers each tear so we may confidently say, "It's getting better!"

. . .‘This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you."
(2 Kings 20:5)

God, thank you for this day.  Thank You for revealing my infected wounds so through You I find healing and strength.  With each healing, I learn where to run for medication upon injury.  I love You.

Keep praying harder than the devil can work.
