Con Artist

I currently work at a local bank.  Each day numerous bills slip through my fingers.  I count different denominations to each customer.  I do not sit and study the appearance of each bill.  Unless the difference is blaring obvious, I lack the ability to declare a bill as counterfeit.  Luckily, the invention of a counterfeit detector pen occurred years ago.  I simply swipe the pen across the money and if a black appears, it is fake.

Once determined fake, an investigation begins to determine where the particular bill came and if more exist.  This bill is unacceptable and remains useless.  The act of forgery can land a person in prison.  One may lose all trust in an individual who continually forges money.

'Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me.  I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
(Acts 26:16-18)

"For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.  And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.  It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve."
(2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

I recently studied the idea of Satan trying with all his might to counterfeit our One true God.  The concept makes total sense.  If Satan can become so much like God that we believe him, then we turn from God and fall victim to this deceit.

Studying His Truths brings the ability to distinguish between Him and a fraudulent copy.  Unfortunately we cannot merely throw Satan in jail on numerous counts of forgery.  We must take it upon ourselves to believe God and follow His ways so to crush Satan under our feet (see Romans 16:19-20).  God remains true and His Word authentic.  Satan remains destructive and his ways unacceptable.

As we delve deep in God's Word, we develop an eye for counterfeit truth.  Our eyes become a counterfeit detector pen.  Take the time to look at the situation, the words spoken, and the actions in front of us and if darkness appears, run from this and deny the forgery of Satan.  Keep focused, never slacking because the closer we follow God, the harder Satan works to appear as truth.  Place no trust in this con artist.

God, thank you for this day.  Thank You for bringing forth Your Truths so I may know the way to follow.  Keep a protection around me so as to fight off the enemy and not fall victim to a fraudulent copy.  Thank You for a fabulous weekend with my family and showing me the reason You created me.  May I continue to keep my eyes open to the peace I find in You.  I love You.

Keep praying harder than the devil can work.
