A Perfect Pick

Today marks a wonderful day for our family.  Today my heart fills with thanks for all God does in my life.  Today I receive answers to all prayers.  Today I see a handsome, loving, faith-filled, young man make a stronger commitment to serving God.  Today, my husband becomes a deacon in our church.

My husband portrays the perfect example of a man after God's own heart.  My husband accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior a few years back.  Since that day, my husband diligently seeks wisdom, direction and comfort from God.  God wraps His arms around my husband and guides his feet to the path leading to Him.

My husband continually directs our family to Truth, uses each day to express love towards us, keeps an even temper, study His Word and serves wholeheartedly.  God placed my husband in charge of our household, to love and cherish me (which some days can be quite difficult) and the kids.  He never falls short in my eyes.  Each day, I feel my love has reached full capacity; just then, he does something that stretches that love even more.

Today, a deacon will be added to the others at our church.  I may be bias, but I believe the church could not have picked a better man for the position.

Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task.  Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.  He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil.  He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.
In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.  They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.  They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well.  Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 3:1-13)

Today, I am so proud of my husband.  I am so happy for him to have the fulfillment of God in his life.  The light of God shines through this man every day.

Thank you God for another day.  Thank You for my husband.  Continue to lead him and guide him.  The devil will prowl around and try to steal this life devoted to You.  Protect my husband and shield him from the enemy's schemes and lies.  Thank You for all the answered prayers I have sent up.  I love You.

Keep praying harder than the devil can work.
