Let Him do the Watering

Leaders, teachers, mentors, directors, bosses, etc. hold a great position.  These individuals have others relying on them for guidance, inspiration, encouragement and comfort.  Upon choosing one of these roles, a person acquires multiple duties.  Sometimes more come on than expected.  As God places you where He sees best, the possibilities are endless.  God never works small.

Along with the above mentioned, comes pressure.  Pressure to perform well, to say the right things, to pick the right people and to push past the hard times.  There will be times when not everyone agrees with your decisions or words.  God must be present in everything and everywhere so to assure the right decisions and words come to you.  God will use you to reach others.  Sometimes, the person is not ready to listen, but you planted a seed.  God knows when to water that seed and allow it to grow. 

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21)

"He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.  Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” (Matthew 13:31-32)

Just as you'll never understand
      the mystery of life forming in a pregnant woman,
   So you'll never understand
      the mystery at work in all that God does.
Go to work in the morning
      and stick to it until evening without watching the clock.
   You never know from moment to moment
      how your work will turn out in the end.  (Ecclesiastes 11:5-6)  The Message

At times being a servant of God, the front line here on Earth, can be overwhelming.  You feel so much excitement to work for God and spread all you know about Him.  You want to shout to everyone how He leads to freedom.  You yearn to speak on the surrender of bondage and the comfort God provides along the way.  In all settings, the number of individuals placed in your care may bring much weight on your shoulders.  It feels impossible to take on the jobs asked of us when the well-being of another is at stake.  Your right it is impossible - IF you take it upon yourself to complete the job.  God must remain at the center or destruction overtakes. 

Satan loves to see you condemn yourself.  He loves to hear worthless, hopeless, failure or shaming thoughts.  The playing begins and his foothold becomes stronger.  STOP him dead in his tracks by reaching up to God.  God will take care of everything.  He takes you and uses the power of the Holy Spirit to work beyond anything you can ever imagine.  If only one little seed were planted in another's thoughts, you did what was asked of you.  God will water it and it will grow into beautiful, peaceful and comforting thoughts.

As you go through your day, remember we are simply seed spreaders.  God never asks for us to change another's attitude, actions or character; He only asks for us to spread His Truth.  Avoid taking on the pressure of another's growth or maturity.  Go boldly for Him and He will take care of the rest.  You may never see the results; just trust Him to follow through.  Refrain from thoughts such as, "The interest and growth of these individuals relies on my performance."  Trust me on this one, Satan will come full force when you approach an event or task with this pressure.  Approach with this thought, "I am here to be used by God and plant even just one seed so He may water in His Timing."  Love Him, work boldly for Him and spread His Truth!

God, thank you for today.  Thank You for the teaching provided daily for me.  I am here, ready and willing to learn all I can about You.  I am here, ready and willing to spread all You teach me.  Release the pressure from my shoulders and consume my words and actions.  It is then I will be relaxed and know that all I do is for You, not self.  May my words be Your words!  I love You.

Keep praying harder than the devil can work.
