Avoid a Stiff Neck

Do you ever look up?

Looking up can be very important in life.  Cobwebs collect in the upper corners in homes.  Dark clouds in the sky warn of an upcoming storm.  Items fall from a higher level than where you stand.

Looking up can bring much enjoyment in life.  Birds fly high in the air.  A sunrise/sunset captivates the eye.  Gazing into the eyes of a loved one may require an upward angle.

Focusing on straight ahead causes you to miss out on lots of things.  Be observant to your surroundings, take in all the joy available and heed warnings of things to come.  This requires stretching of muscles.  Without moving and stretching muscles of your neck, they may become stiff and lethargic.

'So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”  When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”' (Exodus 3:3-4)

'The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”
Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be with you.”
David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.' (1 Samuel 17:37; 45)

"For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth.  The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water." (Genesis 7:17-18)

Looking up is necessary in our lives.  God commands us to seek His face.  He yearns to hear our words of faith spoke to Him.  He desires a relationship with us.

Moses observed a strange sight and did not ignore.  He walked over and God spoke to Moses.  Had he not gone over to see and kept blinders on; the Israelites would have remained under Pharaoh's rule.  They never would have reached the Promised Land.  Moses saved many because he looked to God.

David kept his eyes on God.  He looked up for strength.  He did not ignore the times God rescued him and had faith God would come through again.  Had he not done so, Goliath would have won and Saul's people serve the Philistines.  David beat Goliath with a slingshot and some pebbles.  David saved many because he looked to God.

Noah heeded warning of the flood to come.  He trusted God and obeyed every instruction given.  He sought God for rescue.  The floods came and Noah's family and two of each specie survived.  Had he not built what God asked, every creature and human would have been wiped out.  Noah saved many because he looked to God.

In our lives, we must look up.  God will speak into our hearts and guide our steps.  He will provide warnings, instructions, peace, strength and joy.  Continue to stretch and move as He commands so to not become lethargic in faith.  Observe your surroundings to avoid missing Him.  Keep in close walk with Him so He can protect from dangerous situations.  He will carry you through the tough times if you look up to Him.  Be saved by looking to Him!

Do you ever look up?

God, thank you for this day.  Thank You for guidance, answers and a relationship with You.  I look to You for strength to walk the path laid for my life.  If I neglect You in any area of my life, please reveal it to me.  I love You.

Keep praying harder than the devil can work.
