Serve God, Appreciate Blessings

If you have not experienced Dove chocolates, stop reading now, get in your vehicle and go purchase a bag.  These bite size chocolates excite your taste buds.  They melt perfectly in your mouth and the flavor exceeds any other kind.  Not only does the taste leave you satisfied, the company throws in an uplifting message underneath the wrapper.  The tactic displays brilliancy on the maker's part.  It keeps you coming back for more inspiration; therefore, you purchase more of the product.

I read each wrapper while ingesting the delicious flavor.  I don't keep every one, but some are worth saving to reread at a later date.  I have two particular messages I would like to share.

First one, "Remind yourself that it's okay not to be perfect."  SO TRUE!

We love to do things correctly and successfully accomplish the task at hand.  In our careers, we receive many responsibilities and strive to complete before the deadline and with precision.  In marriage, we aim to please our partner and bring a smile to their face.  In parenting, we work hard to win the hearts of our children and discipline just right, all while protecting their spirits.  In our relationships, we seek approval and acceptance.  We do so by keeping up with fashion, trying so hard to say the 'right' thing, doing as others do to remain 'cool' and go places we wish we had not.

"Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." (Galatians 1:10)

The pressures of perfectionism weigh heavily on our shoulders.  Stress skyrockets when we feel 110% is required and nothing less will be accepted.  As an extremist, I fall into this category way too often.  My thoughts continually run around the same old mountain of striving for flawless character.  I lose myself by trying to appear flawless in all my relationships and end up exhausted.  This mindset opens the door for Satan to come right in and have a party.

Remember that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.  God will take the load away.  He desires us to come to Him and will use us to further His Kingdom.  Release the anxieties of pleasing man and become a servant to Christ.  It is then you will find that people love you even more.  They love the real you.  Find yourself by giving yourself to God.  He created you and will reveal all the wonderful talents and gifts given to you.  See through His eyes!  He does not expect perfection, only a striving heart.  Quit trying so hard to receive the approval of man and set the example to love others just as God created them.  Release the pressures of perfectionism in all areas of your life.  Give it to God.

The other one, "Savor small romantic moments."  WELL, YEA!

Look at your glass; is it half full or half empty?  Focus on all the wonderful blessings, not the trials before you.  In every relationship, trial brings negative thoughts and sad spirits.  Stand firm on Truth to kill any lies from Satan.  Take delight in the time spent with loved ones.  Appreciate the moments that bring a smile to your face.  Cherish the positive steps taken in life.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight." (Ephesians 1:3-4)

In our life, the trials will pile high and weigh heavily on our hearts, IF we allow it.  The burdens will bury our joy and destroy God's plan, IF we focus on them.  IF we fail to look past all the wrong people around us do, then the relationship will die.  In marriages, parenting, friendships or careers; one must treasure the good times and erase the bad.  God intends for us to enjoy each other.  He never desired us to be alone.  He created each of us to complement the other.  Keep your eyes on those 'romantic' moments in life!

God, thank you for another day.  Thank You for all the blessings in my life.  May I count my blessings, not my burdens.  Keep my eyes on Your Glory and may I do everything for You.  I am not here to please man, but to be Your servant.  Use me to further Your Kingdom.  I love You.

Keep praying harder than the devil can work.
