Questions Counteract Faith

What - When - Where - Why - Who - Which - Whose - How

These little words are powerful.  I am confident in saying, we use these numerous times throughout our day.  Questions overtake conversations.  They help in getting to know one another, planning and learning new skills.  Also, questions keep us in the "know" about events taking place and situations occurring all around the world.  If question words did not exist, our conversations would appear bleak, selfish and superficial.  Our wisdom would remain stagnate.

So, questions used in the correct manner are fantastic, a growing tool.  But, there is a season and time for everything under the sun.

"a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to be silent and a time to speak," (from Ecclesiastes 3)

Searching for answers in life may get you in trouble.  Some things are better left unknown.  Answers may bring more trouble to our thoughts and anxiety in our days than necessary.  Our flesh desires to know everything.  As our flesh questions and wonders, Satan uses the answers received to manipulate and send us in a spiral.  For example, if a wife feels insecure in her marriage; she will seek out and search for evidence to confirm her thoughts.  Her mind already focuses on the worse case scenario.  Satan loves this and uses this situation to bring the wife down.  A wedge grows between the married couple and increases risk for destruction.  If a parent thinks the worst of their child and believes the child can make no decision on their own; the parent will search for areas where the child fails.  The relationship revolves around the negative things the child displays.

Some words and questions are better left unsaid.  Questioning everything and everybody counteracts faith.  With each question spoken, the other individual may feel lack of trust from you.  With each question spoken to God about the situation we find ourselves in, He feels lack of faith from you.  For example, if your boss asks you to complete a task before leaving for the day, but continually reminds you or inquires if the task is complete; you may feel the boss does not trust you.  If life throws some hardballs your way and you immediately question the situations; faith lessens.  Our flesh feeds these questions and becomes engrossed in a pity-party.  Satan loves pity-parties.  He can take them and fog our thoughts from seeing the good God has in store for us.

Just as the boss displays lack of trust by continual inquiry, the wife searches for confirmation of negative thoughts, the parent believes the worst and we engage in pity-parties; our questioning God is no different.  Faith is confidence and trust in something or someone.  Our questions counteract our confidence and trust in the One who knows all the answers and works all situations out for the good of those who love Him.  Questions are great when used correctly.  As our minds wonder into the what-if, why me, how come, etc., Satan can manipulate our thoughts to diminish our faith.

God has our plan and purpose in His hands.  Our time here is mapped out completely by our Creator.  He breathed life into you and me for a specific reason.  So, avoid questioning Him.  He knows just how things and situations should end.  He is the beginning and the end.  Trust in Him wholeheartedly and know that He who began a good work in you and gave you life will carry it out completely.  What ever situation or disappointment in this world may come; stand confident that God will see you through.  Use Him to guide and decide your steps.

Use questions to learn, engage in another's life and plan events.  But, don't question our great God.  Trust in Him, lean on Him and keep thoughts focused on Him.  Keep Satan out of relationships by placing God at the center.  God will reveal answers in His time and will give you strength to receive the answer.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)

God, thank you for another day.  Help me focus on positive and rid myself of questioning others.  Bring trust into every relationship You have blessed me with here.  I am sorry for questioning You and throwing a pity-party for myself.  I found out that only Satan arrived at the party and it was destructive to my walk with You.  I place my trust in You and the plans for my future.  I am here.  Use me in all the ways You desire.  I am Your servant, no questions asked!  I love You.

Keep praying harder than the devil can work.
